Last time we visited this household, Oliver was still living on his own, working on his LTW to have 20 best friends while also having a job in Business. But then, one day, he asked his friend Ivy Copur out on a date, and they fell in love. Ivy moved in, and that’s pretty much all that happened!
First things first: some time during this rotation, while I was playing another household, Oliver here and his best friend Maddie Burke (who recently had a baby) decided to spice up their relationship and make out. This not only means that Oli cheated on Ivy – it also means he’s in love with Maddie and I’m going to fix that, because it bugs me. If it happened while playing either one of them, sure, but I don’t want to mess up Oli’s thing with Ivy. He deserves some happiness.
Oliver talked to Maddie just outside his home, while Ivy was inside. He told Madison that what they did had been a drunken mistake and that he hoped they could still just be friends. Maddie wasn’t too bothered by it all – she had other things on her mind, like a new-born baby to take care of. She just liked Oli as a friend, anyway.
Meanwhile, I could use the InSIMenator to clear the love and crush flags. This is the first time I’ve done this on Blueberry Island, even though stuff like this has happened before (Eric Robinson, Rachel Walker, Camryn Lee…). This time I’m just kind of done with it, though.
Now, Oliver could just focus on his relationship with ivy.
To make things easier, I also changed Oli and Ivy’s turn ons. They now have two bolts. While doing so, Oli’s secondary aspiration got reset as well, and I decided to choose Family for him, since I think it fits him better than Pleasure (his primary aspiration is Popularity).
The next day was a Monday, which meant both Oli and Ivy had to go back to work. Oli is an Executive in the Business career (level 5).
Ivy is an employee at Baby Steps, one of Eric Robinson’s stores. She wants to reach the top of the Oceanography career, but to enter that career, she has to have a gold badge in Fishing and right now the ponds are still frozen over from winter.
Oli came home with a promotion to Senior Manager. The next day, he came home with another promotion, this time to Vice President, but I thought taking another picture while nothing happened in between would be a little useless.
Oli and Ivy (only just noticed how cute their names sound together!) both had conversations on the lawn that afternoon, but neither of those went entirely smoothly, it seems.
The pond had thawed, so Ivy could finally start working on that gold fishing badge she needed.
The next morning, Ivy quit her job at Baby Steps. Eric was nice and all, but she was tired of the lack of prospects, low wages and she didn’t like that she wasn’t even able to take a vacation day. This way, she could focus on her fishing badge, and Oli could put the food on the table for a while.
She felt excited about taking the reins of her own life, and that feeling stayed with her all day. When Oli came home, she decided to follow that same feeling.
She wanted to get married, but she knew Oli wouldn’t ask her of his own accord; he was just too clueless about it all. So, she’d do it herself.
“Wow, Ivy, I had no idea!”
“I know,” Ivy said with a smile.
“I love you!”
The next day, on the last day of spring, it was time for a wedding party! Ivy would’ve been fine with a quiet private wedding, but Oli, ever the Popularity Sim, wanted at least some of his many friends and his brother and sister to be present.
Mrs and Mr Copur!
Ivy’s a cake stuffer!
Everybody had a good time, but it might have been a bad idea to invite Madison, because Oli kept wanting to flirt with her… Nothing good can come of that!
Ivy only had eyes for her new husband. I hope he’s worth it, Ivy!
And that’s it for this update! Happy Simming!
