Last time we visited this household, Zoe was still living alone, but during winter, she met Marylena Hamilton and by the end of the season they’d moved in together. They’re a three-bolt couple! Meanwhile, Zoe worked her way up the Entertainment career ladder for her LTW, and Marylena found a job in her LTW career, which is Law Enforcement.
Marylena’s inventory was stocked with all kinds of things, among which a womrat cage, so she and Zoe now have a womrat named Napoleon.
Zoe spent most of her Sunday finishing the novel she’d been writing for a while now.
It became a bestseller!
I really love these two as a couple but I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do with them. Marylena is a Family Sim, so I’m guessing at some point she’ll want to get married and have kids, but who knows.
The next day, Zoe was promoted to Juggler (level 7 of the Entertainment career).
Marylena maxed the Creativity skill that day.
To celebrate the successful day, the couple went on a date to Walker’s, the only restaurant on the island.
It was always a treat going there and the food was amazing.
During the date, Marylena rolled the want to marry Zoe, but Zoe rolled the want to fall in love with Amber, her high school girlfriend (and her best friend’s younger sister). Trouble in paradise?
Zoe’s want soon disappeared and Zoe and Marylena had a great date, but it’s interesting to know there are still some feelings there!
The following day, Marylena also earned a promotion: she’s now part of the Vice Squad (Law Enforcement level 5).
Zoe also got another promotion! She’s now a Master of Ceremonies.
Marylena had prepared dinner for them to eat after Zoe got home. They chatted about their day while eating their salad.
And then Marylena got out a little black box…
Zoe was very surprised but also very happy.
They decided a long engagement was not for them and they got married then and there in their living room, with Napoleon as their witness.
Zoe called her parents the next day to tell them about the happy development and they were happy for her, but also slightly miffed that they hadn’t been invited.
Zoe and Marylena both had the day off and I wanted them to have something new to do, so they bought a community lot called Split Happens. Blueberry Island now has a bowling alley! I underestimated how expensive it would be to set up, though, so they ran out of money. Plenty of reason to open it right away and get some of that perk money to finish the building!
Sims started arriving, and Marylena showed them all how it’s done.
It took some work (and a lot of meditating to get those stars rolling), but in the end, Split Happens became a booming business! It also features a food stand (the hot dog one), which is super handy: it just spawns a chef that keeps cooking and cooking and you don’t have to pay him. And it’s a fun new place for the teens on the island to hang out and go have a bite to eat. This way, they won’t have to go to fancy Walker’s.
Before closing up, Zoe and Marylena made some creative use of the photo booth.
Back home, I decided to let Marylena adopt a kitten, since she had the want locked for it. This is Boudica! It’s going to be a tight fit in the apartment, but we’ll manage! They now have plenty of money to buy a house, but I like their cramped apartment too much, so they’ll stay there for a little while longer.
Napoleon’s constant noise started to drive me crazy, so unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him. I’m sure he got a fine new home, but not with one of my Sims. Now I remember why I never let my Sims have a womrat (even though I adore guinea pigs – I’ve got two myself!).
Boudica became an adult cat! Probably best for Napoleon that he’s gone now.
Zoe was very happy with the new family member.
Marylena came home with a promotion to Detective.
Zoe also earned a promotion! She’s now a Headliner, which means she’ll only need one more promotion before she reaches her LTW. That has to wait until next season, however, because Spring will be over in a few hours!
Zoe donated 20,000 simoleons to the town fund at the end of the rotation. This still leaves them with plenty of money to buy a house next rotation (if they/I want to).
And that’s it for this season for Zoe and Marylena! I hope you enjoyed this update – Happy Simming!
