Time to visit the Burke family! It’s now just Angie and Amin, after their twin daughters Robin and Amber moved to college. Their eldest daughter Maddie has been living on her own for a while now. Last time, Angie became the first Mayor of Blueberry Island. Amin adopted two cats: Heidi and Sirius, and they had a litter of kittens, who where put up for adoption. Amin also opened an ice skating rink, getting it up to level 3. And that’s about it!
The Burke household had gotten pretty quiet now that all three of Angie and Amin’s daughters had left the next. Madison lived in her own apartment at the centre of town while Robin and Amber were at university. It’s not like Angie and Amin didn’t have anything to do, though! Angie was Mayor of Blueberry Island and they had their two cats, Sirius and Heidi.
And Amin had exciting plans! He was preparing to open a new business in town: a grilled cheese shop. It was his secondary aspiration and he loved grilled cheese, so he was excited about this new project. Last season, he’d opened an ice skating rink and that was running well, but it was now spring and he needed something new to keep him busy. Although he (read: I) was debating to change the ice skating rink into a roller rink for the summer.
After quite a lot of grilled cheese making, it was time to open the shop for the first time!
They both loved working in a shop again and getting their hands dirty making Grilled Cheese.
They got it up to level 3 before running out of stock and getting tired.
When they got home I gave the house a little makeover because I was tired of the open plan house. Now they have a proper hallway and a separate kitchen/dining room and living room, and a study further back in the house. When one of the girls moves back and starts her own family, we’ll probably have to redo the house again, but that seems like a good moment to add a second floor.
Back home, Angie started writing a book. It would be a memoir about being the first mayor of Blueberry Island.
Due to all the grilled cheese making, they were all out of food the next day, so Amin went to Julia’s Groceries, which is now run by Owen Robinson. I still love it when Sims visit other Sims’ stores. I should let them do that more often instead of just buying everything from the catalogue!
Amin also decided to stop by Caryl Dawson’s business, Magnolia Market, to buy a nice bouquet of flowers for Angie.
Angie was very happy with her bouquet of wildflowers.
The next day, Angie came home from work with a $50,000 bonus.
She (together with Amin) decided to donate $100,000 to the town fund, which all goes towards the university campus, and the dorm, Blueberry Hall, was renamed to Burke Hall in their honour.
Amin and Angie built a pool in their backyard, so they could maintain their fitness in their old age.
The cats, Heidi and Sirius really don’t get on. Which is weird, because last season they got on so well that they had a litter of kittens together. But now it’s so bad that they’re actually enemies.
So Amin asked his eldest daughter Madison, who had an apartment of her own, if she would maybe want to take Sirius off their hands. Madison hadn’t planned on getting a pet, but she’d always liked cats and would like to do her parents a favour, so she said yes. And that’s also the end of the season for these two! Next season, either Amber or Robin will move back in with them when they’re done with university.
