A new household this time! Although they aren’t new Sims. Mia and Matt McHero are twins who moved to Blueberry Island from Apocalypse Valley. They are the seventh generation of the McHero family, and lifted the last two restrictions of the Apocalypse challenge. Now they’ve moved to the Island to start their own lives for real. Let’s see what they get up to!
Mia (3/3/7/8/4) and Matt (5/6/6/2/6) are ready for their new life on Blueberry Island! These two both had Knowledge aspirations in my Apocalypse challenge, but that was for purely practical reasons. I rerolled their aspirations and now Mia is a Fortune/Family Sim with the LTW to top Oceanography and Matt is a Popularity/Fortune Sim with the LTW to top Law Enforcement.
Mia won’t be able to get a job in Oceanography until she has her gold fishing badge, so she started fishing in the back garden of the apartment building straight away – and found out her OTH is Nature!
There is a free position in Law Enforcement on the island, so Matt immediately went to look for a job opening, but no luck so far. Instead, he took a job in Military, which paid the best.
They had a quiet first day in town.
I also remembered to use ACR to randomize their gender preferences. Mia is straight, and Matt is gay.
Matt left for his first day of work the next morning.
He got a promotion to Elite Forces.
He immediately went to the computer to look for a job in Law Enforcement again, though, and found one this time! He’s now a Security Guard (level 1).
Mia went to visit the nature hobby lot (Peerless Park), where it appeared to be winter? That’s weird.
The only other Sims there were two good witches.
I was hoping some male Sims would show up, but none did, so Mia just spent her time fishing.
That night Matt got his second promotion of the day, to Cadet.
The next day Mia spent a lot of her time fishing again, until Tyler Yang walked by. They have two bolts!
She invited him inside for a sandwich and they got along really well.
He responded really well to her flirting.
He stayed until quite late, and they ended their afternoon with a kiss (and crushes), agreeing to go on an actual first date the next day.
Mia spent her morning fishing again, until she gained her silver badge. I’m contemplating having her open her own little fish market (although I’m pretty sure I was contemplating that for Hannah Walker (the other Oceanography LTW) as well).
Then she invited Tyler out for lunch at Walker’s. They greeted each other with a sweet kiss – a moment that was ruined by a waiter standing way too close for comfort.
I love sending my Sims to Walker’s! Although I should definitely have a Sim open up a kind of lunchroom type thing, because Walker’s is more of a dinner place.
Nevertheless, they had a lovely time.
Mia invited him to come back home with her, and ACR took care of the rest.
In the meantime, Matt got promoted to patrol officer.
Mia and Tyler both fell in love that afternoon, so she asked him to move in with her and Matt.
Here’s Tyler with some new clothes! He’s a 4/4/4/7/6 Family/Fortune Sim (so, practically the same as Mia, who is Fortune/Family). He initially had the LTW to reach his Golden Anniversary, but I find that one so incredibly dull that I decided to reroll for him. I don’t do that with Sims who grow up, but for moving in townies I allow myself one reroll if necessary. His new LTW is to Graduate 3 Children from College, which I think is nice! He’s the first Sim in town to have that one (but we only recently got a university, so that might have something to do with it – I believe I have a hack for that).
I sent a fully energized Mia to the Hobby Lot to fish, because I want her to get that golden badge before winter sets in. Not sure if she’ll make it, but I’ll try! Then I realised that because (for some stupid reason) the season is set to winter on the hobby lot, she’ll actually gain badge points slower than if she fished at home (because at the hobby lot she doesn’t have the Fall bonus)… But on the hobby lot, time doesn’t pass… What to do!
Tyler works in Music (Battle of the Bands Judge – level 5) and had to work that afternoon.
I sent Mia back to the hobby lot at night to gain the final points for that last badge. I missed the moment, but she made it!
There wasn’t a job opening in Oceanography yet, but Mia did buy a community lot – ‘Under the Sea’ Fish Market.
Here it is!
And then fall was over for the McHeroes (and Tyler). These guys were really a lot of fun to play! Looking forward to next season. Perhaps some wedding bells and babies?
