To say it’s been a while would be a bit of an understatement – but, well, it’s been a while. Since the last time I posted an update I’ve started and completed my internship and I’ve also graduated university! But let’s not dwell on my personal achievements – let’s get back to Blueberry Island and get started with the third Fall season on the island…
Last time we visited the Robinson family, Owen and Meadow got married and Meadow fell pregnant with the couple’s first baby. Owen continued working in the garden, with the help of his parents, and sold the produce at his own little food market. Meanwhile, he was waiting to find a job in his LTW career of Law Enforcement.
Since this is the start of a new season, here’s an overview picture of what Blueberry Island looks like at the start of Fall 3. It’s actually starting to look like a little town!
As per usual, Julia paid the taxes at the start of the season. They amounted to $7,900.
Owen spent the morning tending to the plants.
Meadow took it easy that morning and had some grilled cheese for breakfast. Her pregnancy would be over soon!
She spent some time making pottery, because she had a couple of wants relating to the pottery wheel that she bought last season.
Julia played with Lemon for a while, who is still absolutely adorable.
Due to a bad chance card at work, Benjamin lost $15,000…
Eric paid a visit and was greeted by Lemon.
“Hey brother! How’s it going?”
Eric caught them all up on how Lilly and his new baby daughter Emily were doing and how he still wasn’t sure about what to do about his feelings for Lilly.
“Just tell her,” Meadow said.
“I’m not sure,” Eric answered. “I don’t want to complicate things.”
“And having a child together isn’t complicated?” Owen said sceptically.
“—Any further,” Eric added with a pointed look at his brother.
Julia prepared some lovely salmon and Eric stayed over for dinner.
In the middle of the night, Meadow went into labour!
It’s a little baby boy! The streak of girls on Blueberry Island is officially over then. I was worried there for a while that it might be some kind of strange bug or glitch, but thankfully that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Meet Isaac Robinson. He’s got his grandmother’s red hair, both his parents’ blue eyes and his father’s light skin tone.
“Look, it’s your son!” Owen was over the moon, and so was Meadow.
Owen put Isaac into his crib in the newly renovated nursery.
Lemon came in to take a look at the new arrival as well.
As if the day couldn’t get any better, Owen found a job in his LTW career of Law Enforcement! He’s now part of the Vice Squad, which is level 5.
The first thing Ben did when he woke up was meet his new grandson. He and Julia were both ecstatic to have a fourth grandchild.
Owen didn’t have to work that day, so he spent his morning in the garden, as always.
Meadow and Julia painted together, while chatting about Isaac.
Ben went to work, albeit somewhat reluctantly. He was seriously considering retiring so he could spend more time at home with his family.
Meadow really enjoyed being a mother – even the nasty bits of the job like changing dirty diapers.
She was also grateful for the help of her parents in law, though, because now she could easily spend some time making pottery.
I also found out at this point that she and Owen have three bolts these days? I think that’s new. I like it!
Meadow rolled the want to study Parenting, and since I always think that has some really useful benefits, I let her.
I love seeing Julia with her grandchildren!
Ben brought Nicole Jitmakusol (formerly Dawson) home from work.
Owen chatted with her and they became friends.
Ben was a little too busy with other things to be able entertain his own guest.
Later that evening, he taught Lemon how to roll over, because he kept rolling the want for it.
The next day Ben retired from his job as a Business Tycoon. With the arrival of the baby and Owen finding a job he figured he’d be better off staying at home and helping with the garden and around the house. He felt liberated right away!
Owen left for his first day on the Vice Squad.
Ben took over Owen’s duties in the garden.
Owen got promoted to Detective! He did lose 2 Body points due to a bad chance card, though.
He brought his colleague Mary Gavigan home from work and they chatted for a while.
Ben played with Isaac and the DangleMaster for a while. I always forget about those toys, but they’re so much fun!
It was Isaac’s birthday that evening, and Owen invited over his brothers and Gretchen to help celebrate.
I don’t think this kitchen has ever been so full of Sims during a birthday party!
Here’s Isaac! I can’t remember downloading that hairstyle though…
Apart from the colour of his hair, he’s pretty much a copy of his father! His personality is 3/9/10/7/6.
In the midst of all the party fun, Isaac fell asleep in Lemon’s dog bed instead of his own blanket.
The party was broken up by the police! Believe it or not, but that’s the first time that happened in my game, I think.
Meadow and Owen (Meadowen!) ended the night with a little private party of their own, instigated by ACR. They actually tried for baby, but I didn’t hear a lullaby.
Isaac is absolutely adorable. He loves attention and would much rather play with Lemon or his parents and grandparents than with his toys.
Meadow spent that morning teaching him how to talk.
After work, Owen spent some time on the treadmill, trying to earn back the body points he lost the day before.
More of Isaac being adorable!
The next morning Meadow didn’t feel very well…
Isaac loves mischief!
Ben quickly distracted him by teaching him how to walk.
I decided to give the exterior of the house a bit of a new look, because I didn’t like the walls and the roof. Looks much better like this!
I realised I’d never given Meadow a Secondary Aspiration – she rolled Fortune.
Meadow felt very tired that day, so she took a nap in the afternoon.
Owen got promoted to Lieutenant!
Since it was already the last day of the season, Owen and Julia went to work at Owen’s Fresh Food Market for a little while.
They got the store up to level 4 and Owen earned his silver Sales badge.
Back home Owen tried to teach Isaac a nursery rhyme. I never usually do that, so I had no idea that it builds charisma!
And just before the end of the season, Meadow had her first pop!
