Back already with another update, but this is the last one for Summer 3, and it’s been waiting to be uploaded for quite a while now! We visit Lilly Do, who you may remember as being one of Eric Robinson’s girlfriends/flings. Earlier in the round Lilly briefly moved into Eric’s apartment because her landlord had kicked her out, and she accidentally became pregnant… Together they talked everything over and decided that getting married would be ridiculous in their situation and that they would just remain friends – with a baby. After Lilly moved out (into a home partially funded by Eric), Eric kept thinking about her, though… Let’s see how Lilly is faring!
I’m in love with this little house I built for Lilly, since I never work with dormers (I didn’t even know that that’s what they’re called), and I think it turned out really nice! There’s a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs, and two small bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. Lots of room! And all on a 2×2 lot with room for a small garden as well.
I haven’t given Lilly a makeover yet, but I think I’ll do that when she’s given birth. Quick reminder: Lilly is a Knowledge Sim with the LTW to max all 7 skills.
Lilly spent some time skilling, and I love that you can see the sea view in this shot.
Stella Harris came by as part of the welcome wagon, and Lilly greeted her. Maybe she could get some pregnancy tips!
Since they were both hungry, Lilly made some sandwiches for them and they had lunch together, talking about children and families: “They grow up so fast!”
This is also when I rolled a dice for Lilly’s secondary aspiration, and she’s now a Knowledge/Family sim.
By the time they’d finished lunch and Stella left again, they’d become friends.
Lilly then went to take a nap because the pregnancy really took it out of her.
After her nap she ate some more of the leftover sandwiches, and then went to bed again.
The next day I decided to give her some new hair after all, and this her new ‘do! I’m not sure if I like it yet.
It was another quiet day, and Lilly did some more skilling.
I changed her hair again, because I didn’t like the way it looked if she moved her head even only a tiny bit: it got stuck in her body or at weird angles.
The rest of the day Lilly did a lot of napping, peeing and eating.
She woke up very early the next morning because she went into labour!
It’s a baby girl! I was hoping for a boy, but this is fun too. I’m starting to worry, though… There haven’t been born any boys on the Island for a long time now.
Anyway, little Emily here looks exactly like her mother for now. I hope she’ll get some of her father’s features when she grows up.
Lilly was very happy with her baby girl. She’d thought it was going to be rough, but she was over the moon. Emily would make everything worth it.
Even though there was enough room upstairs, she’d decided to keep Emily with her in her bedroom at least until she was a toddler.
Her job in Culinary was earning her hardly anything, so Lilly found a job in Education as a teacher’s aide the next morning. She’d stay with Emily for the time being, though.
Then she called Stella to tell her about the happy news, and remembered she should probably call Eric too. She tried calling him, but he was at work.
She’d try again tonight. For now, she just wanted to enjoy being with Emily and not worry about the girl’s father.
Just before dinner she tried again, and this time Eric picked up. As Lilly’d expected, he wanted to come over immediately, and she said yes.
He was still in his work clothes when he came over, and after Lilly greeted him he made a beeline for Emily’s crib.
“Hey, little girl,” he said softly. “I’m your daddy.”
Lilly gave him some time with her while she prepared dinner for the both of them.
Then they ate and Eric asked her about the birth. She could see he felt guilty that he wasn’t there, but she didn’t blame him. She hadn’t called him after all.
(He’s wearing his normal clothes because ACR wanted these two to Woohoo, and I cancelled it for Lilly, but Eric went to the bed anyway.)
While they were talking Lilly noticed that she’d missed being with him over the last few days. She’d tried to deny it for a while now, but there were definitely feelings there. But he’d never go for a steady relationship, and she didn’t want to pressure him into anything either. The ball was in his court – she was done playing.
After dinner they said goodbye, and gave each other a peck out of habit. Neither of them was surprised by it though. They were comfortable around each other, and they would always be more than just friends, especially with Emily in their lives.
Lilly went to bed feeling very happy. Whatever would happen with Eric (and she didn’t think anything would happen), it would be okay – because she had Emily now.
And that’s it for this update – and for this season! I’ve played quite a bit ahead already, so hopefully I’ll update again soon. Who knows. Anyway, Happy Simming!
