An Heroic Apocalypse – Chapter 12: The Chain is Broken

Hello there!

It’s been a while since I posted an update, but I haven’t stopped playing! I still adore this challenge, and here I am with another update! Last time, Flora grew up to an adult and found a job in Gamer. She also rolled one or two fulfillable want *gasp*. Demi gave birth to a baby boy named David, got pregnant again later on and quit her job to be a stay-at-home Apocalypse Mum. Meanwhile, Fiona steadily climbed the Oceanography career ladder, and became permaplat.

Let’s get this show on the road!

David is a happy little toddler. He’s perfectly capable of entertaining himself for a little while while everyone is asleep or at work.

Because he knows he’ll get lots of attention later on!

First toddler bath of the Apocalypse, ladies and gentlemen! :-)

Fiona got promoted to Underwater Demolitionist, otherwise known as level 5!

She then immediately headed for the tiny nursery and taught David how to talk.

That evening Flora studies (and finished studying) Lifelong Happiness, so her aspiration won’t go down as quickly. Those fulfillable wants are still very rare.

Second pop!

Auntie Flora taught David how to walk. This is when I realised Fiona and Flora have the same underwear (just in different colours), to make things even more confusing…

Demi and David became best friends! I love the cuddle interaction. Never gets old!

Fiona got another promotion! She’s now a Marine Biologist. Oh, and she earned $5,000, which is the reason for the thingymabob above her head.

Flora and Fiona both still cheat at chess, hehe. That’s what you get with a total of 2 nice points between two sims. o_O

Just as Fiona headed off to work, Demi went into labour! (That’s Flora, behind her)

It’s a baby boy!

Flora: Omg, I so did not need to see that o_O

Demi then heads downstairs to hand the little boy to Mandy because there’s another one in her belly, even though Flora was standing right next to her, instead of down one flight of stairs.

I will never get Sims.

Anyway! The second baby is a girl! It’s twins! (Well, duh, we got that by now, Anne)

Meet Derek (on the left) and Deborah! Derek has the medium skin colour, blue eyes and black hair, and Deborah has the dark skin colour, grey eyes and brown hair. Diversity! I love it! This is the first time we’ve gotten another skin colour than the fair one. Yay!

But then there was the problem of where the plumbbob are we going to put these two bundles of joy (and stress, probably)? The only good option seemed to add another crib to the nursery, which is now even more cramped. But hey, it fits.

It did mean that David had to spend his last day as a toddler on the dog blanket in the basement, though… I felt kind of bad about that, but it was only for a day and he seems pretty comfortable.

Hooooly Plumbbob! Flora rolled the want to max Cleaning! +8000! FINALLY!

Fiona brought home yet another promotion, to Whale Tracker this time.

She immediately took over twin duty, since Demi was exhausted and really needed to sleep for a while. Fiona didn’t mind one bit, though.

Flora also got promoted! She’s now a Flag Capturer (level 5).

She could still get some hours in at her new job, so she walked off again, still in the platinum.

That evening it was time for David to grow up!

“Wow, my hand is awesome!”

Look, Joel stopped by as well :-)

He’s still the biggest cutie ever! I adore that nose, I really really do.

And then Flora got home with her second promotion of the day, to Platform Jumper! Things are going well!

David and Flora became friends before they went to sleep, which explains the beautiful platinum Plumbbob above David’s head.

The arrival of the twins made things a lot busier around the McHero household, so Mandy helps out wherever she can, for example by making breakfast in the middle of the night and putting it in the fridge.

It’s really awesome how she can just take care of the twins at night, which certainly beats having to wake up one of the non-vampire adults from their much needed sleep.

Fiona has to get up really early to go to work, but her outfit is awesome so it’s all good.

Demi studied Parenting because being able to see what a baby wants comes in really handy with twins around.

David’s first school day was a snow day, so he started to earn Body skill points. He’ll need to max Body in order to go to college. But that won’t be a problem at all, what with the awesome Education bookcase combined with the Smart Milk effect. Seriously, it’s insane.

In the afternoon, David played some chess with (one of his) mother(s).

Fiona got promoted once again! She’s now a Deep Sea Fisherman.

So, thanks to Ani-Mei I realised I have been able to use birthday cakes since Mitch moved in lifted Culinary… *facedesk*

Anyway, it’s the twins’ birthday already because of that!

Oh wow, the chain is broken! Deborah doesn’t have The Hairstyle (the one Jane, Fiona and Flora all have). The curse is lifted! The hairstyle Deborah has is not the prettiest of all, but at least it’s something different. I was really happy about that, haha.

Derek without the confetti. His personality is 9/1/9/6/1. Quite extreme, but I like it! He doesn’t have the nose, though.

But Deborah does! The cuteness! I can’t take it! Her personality is 4/10/6/7/5.

And with those two cute toddlers I leave you for now! I hope you enjoyed the update.

Happy Simming!

  1. Wow! It’s been so long since I checked this. I was basically off-line since November. This is great! I’m so glad to have some variety, because it was getting hard to tell them all apart. Don’t you just love it when you hit that point in the challenge where things get easier? Medical and Culinary, for the win!

Oops, I’m a bit late with my replies as well! I really appreciate you commenting, though! :) I am very happy with the variety as well, it’s just way more fun! And indeed, Medical and Culinary are life savers! Quite literally actually, haha.
