Blueberry Island – Spring 2 – Burke

Hello there, lovely people!

Welcome back to Blueberry Island! This time we’ll be visiting a new household: the Burke family. Let’s get started!

This is Angie Burke, whom you’ve already seen in the update for the Robinson household. She is a Popularity/Knowledge Sim with the LTW to become a Mayor. That probably won’t happen, since Politics isn’t unlocked as a career until the population hits 1,000. She’ll find other things to do, though, I’m sure. Her personality is 6/7/4/3/5.

Angie didn’t move here on he own! She brought her cat, Mittens. :-) Mittens is my favourite word, and I’ve already given a few too many Sims cats that name, but who cares.

I think I’m going to let Angie open up a pet store once she has enough money for it. She obviously loves animals (she’s the first Sim on Blueberry Island to have a pet) and Sims want pets and essentials for them, so it makes sense to have a pet store.

After checking out her new place and making sure Mittens has settled in nicely, Angie decides to do some painting while waiting for the welcome wagon, as most new move-ins seem to do in my BaCC.

The welcome wagon arrived soon enough, though, and Angie headed outside to get acquainted with her new neighbour, Christy Walker. They hitted it off and soon became friends.

Marie was also a part of the welcome wagon. I think I can’t avoid marrying her in at some point, she’s everywhere! And I really like her. :-)

That reminded me; I didn’t know what Angie’s gender preference was, so I randomised her and she turned out to be straight.

After Angie and Christy had become friends Angie decided to get to know Sinjin Couderc. They only had 1 bolt, so no romance will happen here. I’m strict, I want 2 bolts or more!

ACR seemed to have a different opinion, though, since Sinjin started to flirt with Angie. However, nothing more happened and they just became friends. :-)

In the mean time Mittens had become quite tired of all the happenings of the day and decided to take a nap on the kitchen counter. He has a perfectly comfortable pet bed, but whatever!

Angie was very satisfied and happy when she went to bed that evening. She had a great first day, and was sure she was going to find Blueberry Island to be a wondeful place to live.

The next morning Angie chatted with Julia Robinson on the phone for a while, and they became best friends.

She then purchased the community lot that will become Angie’s Animal Emporium. I don’t really remember how I came up with that name, but it sounds nice, I guess. :-P

After buying the lot she only had $1800 left in the bank, though, so she did some digging for treasure to earn money to set up her store with.

While she was digging Jason Menon walked by, and as he was my founder’s spouse in my other/old BaCC (and I loved him then) I let Angie greet him. They only have 1 bolt, though, and there wouldn’t be much genetic diversity anyway.

I thought they could then just be friends, but they didn’t get along, so Angie said goodbye so she could get back to digging.

Which she did for the rest of the day.

While she was outside, Mittens was being naughty and was eating from the plate of sandwiches that was still on the counter. Bad kitty!

The following morning Angie found a treasure chest!

That treasure chest combined with all her findings from the previous day gave Angie enough money to establish her business, so she went to Blueberry Island’s Main Street (or High Road, I’m not sure what to call it yet).

This is the store! It’s a bit small still, and no actual pets are being sold yet, but it’s enough to start out with, and Angie was very pleased with how it looked.

Soon curious customers started to come inside, and Angie made her very first sales.

This dude gave her a bad review, though, and I don’t understand why, because she did everything right. Stupid reviewer.

While she was working Angie met Amin Sims, and she really got along with him.

“Can I maybe call you some time?” she asked with a smile.

“Sure! That’d be great,” Amin responded.

The business reached rank 2 and Angie headed home. She was immediately greeted by Mittens and played with him for a while.

Later that day she called up Amin and chatted with him until they became friends.

“Would you like to come over for dinner?”

Amin happily agreed and said he was on his way. I’m not sure yet if I like them as a couple, but I was prepared to give them a chance.

Angie prepared some Mac ‘n’ Cheese for Amin and apologised for her bad cooking skills. He smiled and said he loved it, which made Angie feel a little bit warm inside.

After dinner I made Angie initiate one flirt, and then…

…ACR happened. It wasn’t even a date, they just went straight for the bed after that one flirt.

Amin left in the early hours while Angie was still asleep. We’ll see how this goes…

The next morning Angie was a little surprised to see Amin had left. She wasn’t sure if she cared, though. She didn’t roll any wants for him and just wanted to skill.

In the afternoon, when she had completed her painting, she rolled want to become best friends with Amin. She wasn’t really sure what she wanted out of this relationship yet. She really liked him (they have crushes on each other) but she didn’t know if it could become more than that.

The next day she decided to invite Amin back over. After having let things rest for a day, she found that she did really want to see him again.

They chatted for a while, and then ACR happened again. I cancelled the Woohoo action and they had a good time talking to each other.

We all know ACR always gets what it wants, though…

This time Amin didn’t leave straightaway, and they started to flirt with each other.

And there was kissing…

…and serenading. Oh, and they became best friends.

Mind you, the only romantic interaction I ever initiated between these two was that first flirt after dinner the first time he came over. They’re doing this all by themselves.

When Angie saw how well Amin got along with Mittens, however, she was sure she really, really liked him.

“I know we started off on a bit of a strange foot,” said Amin with a smile. “But Angie, I think I’m in love with you…”

“I think I’m in love with you, too…” Angie hesitated. Although, like Amin had said, their relationship had started in a bit of a weird way, she did really like Amin and she could definitely see a future with him. “Do you want to move in with me?”

Amin’s face lit up. “Yes! I would love nothing more.”

That night Angie and Amin spent their first entire night together, both happier than they had ever been, and both very much looking forward to the summer that was ahead of them.

And that was all for Spring 2! Let me know what you think in the comments or on boolprop and thank for reading. Happy Simming!

  1. Awww, they’re such a cute couple. And Angie is gorgeous. I love her look.

Mittens is adorable. I love sims cats! I love cats, in general, but I think the Sims really nailed cat behavior. Even how in the relationship panel, cats label their sims as “Mine.”

But it’s really important for a spouse to love your pet, so good for Amin! The town is growing up pretty fast, isn’t it?

I’m glad you like them together! I love Angie’s look as well :-)

Mittens is pretty awesome, yeah. They did a really good job, indeed. The “Mine” thing is something I’ve always loved as well.
